BCG, Toronto
“BCG’s 100,000 SF Toronto Office: A Dynamic, Flexible Space Designed to Bring People Together and Reflect Their Vision for the Future.”
The BCG-HOK project team set out to create a memorable new 100,000 SF work environment that conveys the firm’s vision, culture, brand and lasting impact. The team wanted employees and visitors entering the space to immediately understand that BCG is part of the community of leaders shaping Canada’s future.
The team also recognized the opportunity to reimagine work and the role of the post-COVID office. They wanted to provide a new type of work environment that would give employees compelling reasons to come back to the office—to “earn their commute” by empowering their best work.
The three-storey space has a wide variety of work settings including open offices, case team rooms, convertible private offices, soundproof phone booths, a quiet library, a large café and even individual spaces next to the library. People have complete flexibility to move between all these spaces during the day. They can work wherever they feel the most comfortable and productive.
Inspired by the multicultural mosaic of Toronto, the design creates opportunities for people to have serendipitous encounters and creative collisions. Features and unexpected “Easter eggs” unique to each floor encourage people to move around and explore. In doing so, employees can reestablish valuable in-person connections.
The BCG account showcases a seamless collaboration between HOK’s Toronto, Houston, and Calgary offices, with each team bringing regional expertise and design excellence to create distinctive, high-performing workplaces tailored to each location.
